KEY BENEFITS:
-Repels insects naturally
-Uses potent plant ingredients
-Nourishes and soothes skin
-Eco-friendly and non-toxic

This Bug Balm is made with over 12 botanicals to repel insects naturally. Formulated by Mathew Sebatino, who researched more than 40 plants traditionally used in bug sprays, it combines the most effective ingredients while avoiding those that are simply pleasant-smelling but ineffective. Cedar, mugwort, and blue tansy were identified among the most potent for repelling bugs and are featured in this balm.

Note: Lemon eucalyptus and citronella essential oils, registered as plant-based insect repellents in the US since 1948, work similarly to DEET by masking the attractants that draw insects to the skin.

Barnaby Black

At Barnaby Black, the wilderness is more than just inspiration—it’s the essence of every product. Each item they craft is rooted in the places from which they are harvested, capturing the raw, untamed spirit of the land. Whether foraging in the deserts, mountains, or coastal wilds of North America, Barnaby Black lets the aromatic nature of plants and trees speak in their native tongues.

Their process is simple yet profound: they go out into the wild, experience the diversity of plant life, and let those experiences guide the stories they tell through their products. This is not about romanticizing nature; it’s about bottling the true essence of a place and sharing it in its purest form.

Barnaby Black’s commitment to sustainability and respect for nature is evident in every step of their journey. They honor the landscapes they explore, ensuring that each product reflects a deep connection to the wild places from which it comes.

Wild Foraged Cedar Leaves

Wild foraged cedar leaves carry the essence of ancient forests, offering a protective embrace rich in natural resilience. Packed with essential oils like cedrol and thujone, these leaves are prized for their bug-repellent properties, creating a natural shield against mosquitoes and other pests. Their potent oils not only protect but also soothe the skin, while the earthy, grounding aroma of cedar enhances the balm. This connection to nature’s strength provides comfort and defense, offering a powerful yet gentle barrier in the wild.

Wild Harvested Mugwort

Mugwort is a natural powerhouse for repelling bugs, thanks to its earthy aroma rich in compounds like camphor, thujone, and cineole, which disrupt pests’ ability to locate skin. This botanical guardian forms an invisible shield, deterring mosquitoes and other insects, making it an ideal companion for outdoor adventures. Beyond its protective benefits, mugwort’s antioxidant-rich blend soothes irritated skin, calming redness and inflammation. Let its potent, yet gentle essence keep bugs at bay while nurturing your skin and deepening your connection to nature’s natural defenses.
